Cuervo has launched a new distillery-exclusive whiskey from its Colorado distiller, Stranahan’s.
Stranahan’s Rum Cask is only available at Stranahan’s facility in Denver. After an initial maturation, the whiskey is transferred into Caribbean rum barrels, where the liquid is finished for up to three years.
Other distillery-only Stranahan’s include a whiskey finished in Bushmills Irish single malt barrels for more than three years. Bushmills is also owned by Cuervo, which inherited the Northern Irish distiller from Diageo in a brand swap seven years ago.
Earlier this week, Brown-Forman announced the launch of a ten-year-old Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey. The age-stated expression, the first from the brand in more than 100 years, will roll out in the US from next month at an SRP of US$70 per bottle.
