Halewood Artisanal Spirits has followed the inaugural whisky release from Welsh distillery Aber Falls with a 2021 expression.

The three-year-old Single Malt Welsh Whisky is aged in a mix of ex-Oloroso Sherry, PX Sherry, Bourbon and virgin oak casks, Halewood said today. The launch follows the announcement in May of Aber Falls’ first whisky, along with previous gin and vodka expressions.

Aber Falls, in Gwynedd, north Wales, is a relatively new distillery. Halewood first confirmed plans to open the facility in January 2017.

Commenting on the latest addition to the portfolio, Aber Falls MD James Wright said: “We are thrilled to release our 2021 Welsh Single Malt whisky, following the successful inaugural release earlier in the year. We’re a distillery that proudly produces 100% Welsh whisky, capturing the Welsh craft and heritage in every bottle.”
