La Martiniquaise-Bardinet is to introduce a 12-year-old expression of blended Scotch Cutty Sark.
The iteration has been matured in a selection of Bourbon and Sherry casks and launches in the US and UK, as well as selected European and Asian markets later this month, the group said. The 12-year-old will be available in 70cl and 100cl formats.
The extension is the brand’s first since it was bought by La Martiniquaise-Bardinet from Edrington in 2018.
“We are very excited to enrich the Cutty Sark family,” said La Martiniquaise-Bardinet’s international marketing director, Sylvia Bernard. “This new reference is a wonderful opportunity to communicate on the heritage, status and quality of the brand while remaining audacious and iconic.
“This is a first step to build the foundations of an enlarged Cutty range to appeal to whisky enthusiasts and recruit the next generation of Scotch consumers.”
Speaking after the purchase, Bernard praised the “unique opportunity” for the brand to help the group expand both in its current and future markets.
