Zamora Brands is set to launch a Tequila brand with investment from American football player Dak Prescott.
The “luxury” brand, Tequila Volteo, will mark the Spain-based drinks group’s first move into Tequila and it set to launch this summer.
Zamora Brands did not disclose Prescott’s stake in the brand.
The range will include a blanco, reposado and cristalino Tequila, priced respectively at $65, $78 and $89.
Tequila Volteo will be distilled and bottled at Destileria Casa De Piedra, a family-owned distillery in Jalisco, Mexico. The brand will only be available to buy in the US.
“Dak Prescott isn’t only a remarkable athlete and a role model to others, he has a sharp mind for business and marketing, and he doesn’t invest in a project unless he completely and truly believes in it,” said Matt Appleby, CEO of Zamora’s US division.

By GlobalData“As an athlete, he’s very thoughtful about what he eats and drinks, which is why Tequila Volteo is a clean and natural additive-free and organic Tequila. I know I also speak for Dak in saying that we’re incredibly proud and honoured to soon introduce this exceptional Tequila to people across the country.”
Dak Prescott is an American football quarterback for NFL team Dallas Cowboys.
He founded the Faith Fight Finish Foundation which helps “those facing life-challenging hardships”. An undisclosed portion of proceeds from Tequila Volteo sales will be earmarked to support the charity.
Zamora generated sales of €265m in its fiscal 2022, up 20% on a year earlier and, the business said, a record level for the company. Net profit grew 26% to €20.8m.
