Foley Family Wines & Spirits is continuing its expansion in the US spirits market with the launch of Evil Bean, its first cold brew coffee liqueur.
Citing CGA data, Jason Daniel, the US wine and spirits group’s CMO, said espresso martinis rank among the “top four best-selling cocktails in the US”.
“With the versatility of coffee in mixology, espresso martinis are going beyond traditional settings and mixers,” he added.
Evil Bean is produced at the Minden Mill distillery in Nevada, which Foley Family Wines & Spirits acquired two years ago.
Master distiller Joe O’Sullivan said: “Master roaster Christian Waskiewicz and I worked tirelessly to craft the optimal blend. The result is a smooth, bold, and full-flavored coffee liqueur with notes of dark chocolate, cherry cordial, and caramel.”
The liqueur is available in Nevada and California, priced at a suggested retail price of $29.99. The company plans to roll out the product from next month.
Foley Family Wines & Spirits’ portfolio includes High Ground estate vodka, Minden Mill single estate whiskeys and Charles Goodnight Texas straight Bourbon.
High Ground, a rye-based vodka, marked the company’s entry into the vodka market in May. It is also distilled and bottled at the Minden Mill distillery.
Established by Bill Foley in 1996, the company owns over 24 wineries.
In September, Foley Family Wines & Spirits acquired five wineries and brands from US group Vintage Wine Estates for $15m. The deal followed Vintage Wine Estates’ bankruptcy filing in July.
