Dr Pepper Snapple Group has launched an advertising campaign for Iron Man 2 in the US that will feature the creator of the character, Stan Lee.

The campaign, in conjunction with Marvel Studios, will see Lee make a cameo in the ad, the firm said today (21 April).

Dr Pepper is also launching a competition for consumers to win an LG gift card valued at US$4,750, an LG mobile phone, Microsoft Xbox 360 console and accessories, and other prizes.

Fans can enter codes from marked Dr Pepper products at DrPepper.com, or by texting the code to “PEPPER” (737737).

The competition ends on 30 June and codes must be entered by 31 July.

In addition to the competition, a marketing campaign includes Iron Man collectible Dr Pepper cans and national television, radio and online advertising. Iron Man 2 opens nationwide on 7 May.
