Rémy Cointreau has launched a new ‘e-boutique’ for high-end Cognac Louis XIII, to supplement the brand’s three bricks-and-mortar outlets, in China and the UK.

The company said the new platform “reimagines the online shopping experience” with features such as an online concierge, personalisation services and limited edition products. The launch is part of an increased focus on e-commerce from the company as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clients can register for events in major cities around the world, as well as ordering custom engravings on decanters and glasses, and sending personalised gift messages to accompany purchases. Rémy said Louis XIII’s “most valued” clients would also be given access to a pre-ordering system and direct contact with a “private director”.

The online shop will sell Louis XIII Cognac, accessories, gift sets and real-life experiences, as well as providing serving suggestions and tasting advice.

The launch follows the opening of three physical Louis XIII boutiques: one in Beijing in 2016, followed by locations in London and Xi’an a year later.

Earlier this year, Rémy signalled its intention to bring e-commerce for all its brands under one roof as part of an increased focus on digital channels as a result of the coronavirus.
