The global drinks industry noticed a 2.9% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 over the previous month, led by Nestle’s 28.21% share, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics database.
The drinks industry’s overall hiring activity declined 3.18% when compared with October 2022.
Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 2.54% share of the global drinks industry’s hiring activity in November 2022, down 0.16% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of November 2022 were 3.76% lower when compared with the previous month.
The decrease was a result of 7.27% higher job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 43.57% emerged as the top IT occupation in the drinks hiring activity in November 2022, a 26.36% growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in second with a share of 21.63% in November 2022, down 5.48% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Computer and Information Analysts with a 16.3% share in November 2022, a decline of 40.23% over the previous month, and Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a 14.11% share in November 2022 and a drop of 23.73% over October 2022.
Top five drinks companies by recruitment activity in November 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 0.42% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global drinks industry during November 2022 over October 2022.
Nestle posted 90 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a rise of 328.57% over the previous month, followed by PepsiCo with 89 jobs and a 35.51% decline. Anheuser-Busch InBev with 21 IT jobs and Coca-Cola with 18 jobs, recorded a 12.5% decline and a 59.09% drop, respectively, while Mondelez International recorded an 80% rise with 18 job postings during November 2022.
Regional composition of IT hiring in drinks industry
North America emerged as the leading region in the global drinks IT hiring activity in November 2022 with a 46.71% share, which marked a 23.2% drop over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 25.08%, registering a 6.67% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 20.69% share and a 17.86% rise over October 2022.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 6.58% and a month-on-month rise of 75%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.94%, registering a 50% decrease over the previous month.
