October 2022 has seen a decrease of 5.37% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 2.31% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 37.57% in October 2022, a 10.13% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 20.63% in October 2022, marking an 18.18% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 18.52% in October 2022, a 34.62% rise from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 44.66% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s drinks industry during October 2022 over previous month.
PepsiCo posted 89 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 323.81% over the previous month, followed by Coca-Cola with 20 jobs and a 33.33% growth. Anheuser-Busch InBev with 15 IT jobs and Coca-Cola Consolidated with 14 jobs, recorded an 11.76% drop and a 33.33% drop, respectively, while Nestle recorded a 62.07% decline with 11 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s drinks industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s drinks industry IT hiring activity with a 73.02% share in October 2022, a 10.4% increase over September 2022. Mexico featured next with a 24.87% share, up 17.5% over the previous month. Canada recorded a 2.12% share, a drop of 42.86% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.73%, up by 4.72% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 21.16% share, registered a growth of 14.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.05% share, up 24.14% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.06%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
