Bacardi is opening a Travel Retail outlet in China to showcase a selection of its premium spirits brands.

The temporary boutique, located at the Haitang Bay Mall in the province of Hainan, offers consumers the chance to purchase the company’s blended Scotch whisky brand Dewar’s Double Double 21 Year Old, 27 Year Old and 32 Year Old expressions. Also available are bottlings from Bacardi’s Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Glen Deveron, Craigellachie and Royal Brackla single malt brands as well as a selection Grey Goose vodka and Martini vermouth expressions.

Additionally, and exclusive to the outlet, is a new Aberfeldy 18-Year-Old Exceptional Cask, limited to 594 70cl bottles at 54% abv and priced at US$166.

To support the pop-up store, Bacardi is running a digital media campaign targeting tourists and travellers in the province.

“It’s very exciting for us to be operating in a dedicated space for our whisky portfolio in China and we have worked closely with the China Duty Free Group team to bring this concept to life in a short time frame,” said Bacardi Global Travel Retail’s regional director for Asia Pacific, Gaurav Joshi.

This week, Bacardi secured a sponsorship deal with the US Open golf tournament for its Dewar’s brand.
