Canada’s largest wine group, Vincor International Inc., posted profits for the first quarter of C$9.5m, up 15.9% from C$8.2m in the first quarter of the previous fiscal year.
The company also reported that sales for the first quarter rose by 5.8% from C$101.1m to C$107m. The company said that sales rose across the entire portfolio, with the Jackson-Triggs brand increasing sales by 14% and its Toasted Head brand up by 20%.
“By executing our strategy to expand operations to all new world wine producing regions and responding to consumer preferences by migrating our portfolio to premium wines, we have again followed a record year with a strong first quarter,” said Donald Triggs, Vincor’s president and chief executive.
