Diageo has released a new Bourbon from its George Dickel brand in the US.

Dickel Bourbon is an eight-year-old blended whiskey that comprises 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% malted barley. The iteration, which coincides with yesterday’s National Bourbon Day in the US, will roll out across retailers in selected domestic markets in the coming months.

The 45% abv permanent addition to the brand’s portfolio was distilled at the company’s Cascade Hollow Distilling Co facility in Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Dickel Bourbon is an opportunity for us to finally share this quality liquid with the rest of the world,” said Cascade Hollow’s GM, Nicole Austin. “As a style, Bourbon is meant to be more approachable and balanced, and Dickel Bourbon is a great entry point into our whole portfolio.”

In June last year, Diageo launched an 11-year-old bottled-in-bond whiskey for George Dickel.
