Edrington has shuffled its deck of non-executive directors, with Angus Cockburn coming in for the departing David Richardson.
The Macallan and Famous Grouse brand owner, which posted a fiscal-2020 sales lift of 6% in June, confirmed today that Cockburn has joined its board in a non-exec capacity. Cockburn is the CFO at public service provider Serco Group, a position he has held since late-2014.

The switch comes as David Richardson retires today, after seven years on Edrington’s board.
“I would like to thank David Richardson for his valuable contribution to Edrington … ,” said company chair Crawford Gillies. “His knowledge of the industry and extensive experience have played a significant role in guiding Edrington. We wish him a long and happy retirement.”
Cockburn added: “I have long admired the company for its unique ownership structure, … its global scale, and … a world-class portfolio of super-premium spirits.
“I look forward to working with the great team at Edrington and to playing a part in a business that is so integral to the success of the Scotch whisky industry and the Scottish economy.”
