Gordan & MacPail has launched a new limited-edition single malt from its Benromach Scotch whisky brand.
Benromach Cara Gold marks the first time the Speyside-based distiller has used Cara Gold malted barley in its whisky production. The low colour caramel malt is more frequently used in brewing and has been combined with the distillery’s standard lightly-peated malt.
The spirit was laid down in 2010, before being bottled this year. The naturally-coloured expression is non-chill filtered and has been matured exclusively in first-fill Bourbon barrels.
Benromach Cara Gold is limited to just 6,000 bottles globally and is available now online and via selected retailers.
