Halewood Artisanal Spirits has expanded the European footprint for its Samuel Gelston’s Irish whiskey brand.

In addition to its current exposure in the UK market, Halewood today confirmed new distribution partnership arrangements for the brand with Volume Spirits (Germany), CBH (France), Vienna Distribution (Austria), Tudor House (Poland) and Silverbogen (Switzerland).

The current portfolio comprises Samuel Gelston’s Single Malt, Blended Irish Whiskey, Single Pot Still, 5 Year Old Single Malt, 10 Year Old Single Malt, 15 Year Old Single Malt and 26 Year Old Single Malt.

Last month, Halewood revealed a limited summer edition bottling for its Dead Man’s Fingers rum brand in its home market.

GlobalData figures show that Irish whiskey consumption in Western Europe has risen slowly but steadily in volume terms in recent years. Between 2015 and 2019, the category grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.5% in the region. A single-year volumes slide of 7% is forecast for in 2020 but, to 2024, Irish whiskey volumes are expected to return to their upward trajectory, at a CAGR of 1.1%.
