La Martiniquaise-Bardinet has added a new expression to its Glen Moray Scotch whisky brand’s ‘Warehouse 1’ collection.
Glen Moray Warehouse 1 2005 Tokaji Finish is a single malt that hails from the company’s Elgin facility. Distilled in October 2005, the liquid spent one year in casks that formerly held Hungarian Tokaji wine.
The UK-exclusive iteration is the first of three whiskies scheduled for the Warehouse 1 line this year.
“Our team searches the world for interesting casks and they’re not afraid to … try the unusual and creatively combine Glen Moray whisky with unexpected casks,” said Glen Moray distillery’s visitor centre manager, Iain Allan. “In this case, we have turned to Tokaji, which is a very old but lesser-known wine that has created a wonderful, flavour-packed dram that we’re very proud to release.”
Additionally, the company confirmed the series has received a packaging redesign in recent months featuring a graphic of Warehouse 1. The collection debuted in November with an expression aged for 14 years in ex-Sauternes wine casks.
Last month, Edrington changed the name of its Naked Grouse blended Scotch brand to Naked Malt.
