PepsiCo has released another “real” sugar Pepsi range in the US.
Pepsi-Cola Soda Shop is available in two flavours – Cream Soda and Black Cherry – and rolls out on 20 September in 20oz (60cl) bottles and 12oz cans. PepsiCo said today both flavours contain “real sugar” without giving further details.
Singer Doja Cat will front a marketing campaign for the line extension. Doja Cat has teamed up with PepsiCo to release a cover of ‘You’re the One That I Want’, a song from the musical Grease.
In the US, Pepsi is usually sweetened with corn syrup, however, the brand owner has released some cane-sugar extensions for its flagship soda. In 2016, the company launched 1893 Pepsi-Cola, a blend of kola nut extract, cane sugar and sparkling water. PepsiCo also makes Pepsi-Cola Made With Real Sugar. The product was previously called Pepsi Throwback.
