Pepsi Co has introduced a limited edition Maple Syrup version of its namesake cola brand in collaboration with US pancake restaurant chain IHOP.

The new release will be available exclusively in 12oz (34cl) cans via a promotion on the company’s Social Media channels, with fans invited to show off their best stack(s) of pancakes on Instagram or Twitter to be in with a chance of winning. Each of the 2,000 winners will also receive a custom Pepsi spout, inspired by the IHOP syrup bottle, the company added.

“There is truly nothing quite like the indulgent taste of Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola,” said Pepsi’s chief marketing officer Todd Kaplan. “Sweet maple syrup blended with the refreshing taste of Pepsi cola. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with IHOP on this special initiative, as it isn’t often we get to bring together two iconic brands to satisfy the cravings of pancake and Pepsi lovers alike.”

The innovation comes hot on the heels of the launch of Pepsi Nitro – a new nitrogen-infused version of PepsiCo’s flagship CSD. The launch, announced earlier this month, will be supported by a US media campaign featuring  TikTok celebrity Khaby Lame.
