Pernod Ricard has appointed Lucy Bearman to a new leadership position created to spearhead the company’s wine portfolio in the UK.
As wine portfolio director, Bearman will lead UK marketing for Pernod’s wine brands including Campo Viejo, Brancott Estate and Jacob’s Creek. She will also be in charge of NPD for the wine portfolio.
Bearman has been with Pernod’s UK division since 2012 in positions including brand marketing, category and customer development, as well as director of strategy, portfolio & insights. The company said Bearman’s latest role has been created to capitalise on the growth of the wine category, fuelled by the post-coronavirus rise of at-home consumption.
In full-year results announced today, Pernod’s strategic wines portfolio dropped 4% in sales, a fall the company blamed on Jacob’s Creek. Pernod said Campo Viejo was in growth over the 12 months.
Overall, Pernod’s fiscal full-year sales were down 9.5% to EUR8.45bn (US$10.1bn).
