Distilled in the highlands of Jalisco, the Tequila is a blend of 12-month-old Añejo with a touch of three-year-old Extra Añejo Reserva, which is then double-charcoal filtered to create its clear appearance. Developed in collaboration with spirits judge and cocktail expert Virginia Miller, the Tequila is said to have “unparalleled smoothness with a fruity floral character, which carefully balances the citric nuances of agave with the signature taste and aroma of barrel ageing”.

Xavier Zamudio, global marketing manager for Avión, said: “Through the introduction of Avión Reserva Cristalino, we have crafted a Tequila that pays homage to every step in our production process – from field to bottle – showcasing the uniqueness of our terroir, the character of our agave, the purity of our distillation and the delicate relationship with wood during ageing.”

Also today, Germany’s Mast-Jagermeister announced the purchase of an unspecified-size holding in Tequila peer Teremana.
