By GlobalDataPort Charlotte PAC:01 2011, which will launch this month, has been lined up to replace Port Charlotte OLC:01 2010, the company said today. The ten-year-old iteration, which carries the traditional heavily-peated flavour profile of the Islay-based distillery, has spent six years in American oak casks before being transferred to casks previously used for Bordeaux red wine for a further four years.
The single malt forms part of Bruichladdich’s ‘Cask Exploration’ series.
As well as its namesake brand and Port Charlotte, names after the nearest village to the distillery on Islay, Bruichladdich also produces the Octomore single malt and The Botanist gin.
Remy Cointreau, which acquired Bruichladdich for US$90.3m almost nine years ago, is set to report its fiscal-full-year sales results on Friday.
