UK-based drinks manufacturer and distributor Riviera Drinks has acquired ready-made cocktail brand Soho Street Cocktails.
In a statement, Colchester-headquartered Riviera Drinks said the deal marked its “entry into the B2C market”. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Up until now, the company has supplied bars and restaurants with soft-drinks, syrups, liqueur and cocktail ingredients.
Riviera Drinks director Andrew Howe told Just Drinks it views the deal as the “next natural step”.
When asked why Soho Street Cocktails was an appealing acquisition target, Howe said the brand had a “very good reputation” and offered “high quality products and great branding”.
Riviera Drinks plans to launch Soho Street Cocktails in a 1.5-litre bag-in-box format, moving away from 1.5-litre pouches. The different packaging is designed to be more convenient for consumers and be more sustainable.
“We are confident that the new bag-in-box format will be a hit with consumers, providing them with convenient and sustainable options for enjoying their favourite bar-quality cocktails,” Howe added.
The Soho Street Cocktails portfolio includes flavours such as Passion Star Martini, Espresso Martini and Strawberry Daiquiri, with alcoholic strengths ranging from 10% to 12% abv.
Howe told Just Drinks it was planning to launch the brand into the retail channel and was already in talks “with a couple of large retail companies” in the UK.
