KWV has acquired the Wild Africa Cream liqueur from Wild Cape Liqueurs in South Africa.
The company confirmed the acquisition to just-drinks today (11 March), although no price was disclosed. KWV has been marketing the product for several years in seven African countries, and will now assume responsibility for global sales.
The product, which is packaged in a leopard print bottle jacket, was developed by Wild Cape Liqueurs in 2001 and is presently sold in 42 countries. Canada, Germany and the brand’s domestic market account for the bulk of Wild Africa Cream’s distribution.
The caramel-cream liqueur competes directly with Distell’s Amarula Cream, the official cream liqueur for the FIFA World Cup, which takes place in South Africa this June and July.
