Suntory Holdings’ Green ½ reduced sugar canned cocktail – Product Launch

Suntory Holdings’ domestic spirits arm, Suntory Spirits, has released a new ‘chu-hai’ RTD that contains half the sugar of a regular alcoholic canned cocktail.

Green ½ (Green Half) is a 5%-abv drink targeted at consumers who are conscious of their health without overdoing things, Suntory Spirits said today. The new beverage will launch at the end of September into Japanese convenience stores.

Two flavours will be available, a Lemon and a Grapefruit version.

In May, Suntory added a lemonade flavour to its Jim Beam Highball RTD range in Japan. The canned highball brand extension debuted in 2015 and was the first Suntory innovation to come from the group’s takeover of Jim Beam owner Beam Inc the previous year.
