Teeling Whiskey has launched a new Irish whiskey under its namesake brand.
Teeling 13-Year-Old Single Grain consists of triple distilled Irish whiskey that spent nine years in ex-Bourbon barrels before sitting for an additional four years in ex-Bordeaux Red Wine casks. The iteration will be available initially at the company’s Dublin-based distillery shop and selected Irish off-premise outlets, before rolling out to additional global markets in the coming months.
“It’s a little known fact that the majority of Irish whiskey sold is actually grain whiskey as it makes up the majority of the composition in big multinational-owned brands of Irish whiskey,” said the company’s founder, Jack Teeling. “Our new 13-Year-Old release is a further representation of our mission to help drive the continued expansion of the Irish whiskey category through unique bottlings and expressions.”
The 13-Year-Old is the second in the distiller’s ‘Single Grain’ series, following the launch of the debut expression in 2013.
