C&C Group, the Magners cider and Tennent’s lager owner, has appointed former Scottish & Newcastle chairman Sir Brian Stewart as its non-executive chairman.
Stewart will link up with former Scottish & Newcastle CEO John Dunsmore and former chief operating officer Stephen Glancey, who now hold identical roles at Ireland-based C&C Group.
Stewart will take up his role on 5 August, when current non-executive chairman Tony O’Brien will retire.
O’Brien said yesterday (18 February): “With his vast knowledge and experience of the long alcoholic drinks (LAD) sector, coupled with his valuable trade connections, he is well equipped to provide astute strategic leadership of the board, and is the ideal person to lead the next phase of C&C’s development.”
