The organisers of Vinexpo New York are to split the exhibition into two next year, with a new show dedicated solely to spirits and RTDs.
The new format, called Drinks America, will open in March and targets the strong growth in the US of distilled spirits and ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages, Vinexpo organiser Vinexposium said this week. The show will be held at the same time as Vinexpo America, which is the new name for Vinexpo New York.
Vinexpo America will only focus on wine.
“Bringing together Vinexpo America and Drinks America in a single meeting place will allow us to serve the entire world of wine and spirits in the US, a dream opportunity, especially following the cancellation of major exhibitions in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Rodolphe Lameyse, the MD of Vinexposium.
Both shows open on 9 March next year and run for two days at the Jacob K. Javits convention centre in New York City.
Like most international trade show organisers, Vinexposium has faced disruption from the coronavirus pandemic. Vinexpo Paris and Wine Paris 2021 were cancelled last month despite having been moved to June. The shows will be held in February next year.
