Good Drinks Australia has partnered with AB Abro Bryggeri for the distribution of its Rekorderlig cider brand in Australia.
Distribution of the Swedish group’s Rekorderlig brand had previously been handled by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP).
Good Drinks Australia is tasked with the importation, marketing, sales and distribution of Rekorderlig in Australia from 1 July.
Rekorderlig’s production and packaging will still be undertaken by AB Abro Bryggeri, in Sweden.
The distribution partnership between Good Drinks Australia and AB Abro Bryggeri is a five-year contract, that includes a two-year extension subject to performance. Good Drinks Australia is expected to import 0.7 million litres of Rekorderlig annually.
Good Drinks Australia said the brand is sold on a national basis, with “strong consumer demand” across national chains and the independent retail market.
The group added it “expects to accelerate sales growth by leveraging its strong national sales capability and jointly developing new product opportunities to meet emerging consumer trends”.
Rekorderlig is available in the Australian on-premise and stores including Dan Murphy’s, First Choice, BWS and Liquorland.
CCEP began winding down its sales and distribution contract with AB Abro Bryggeri for Rekorderlig cider brand in Australia last March. The Coca-Cola bottler had been Rekorderlig’s distribution partner in Australia for nine years.
The group announced three years ago it would stop producing, selling and distributing beer and cider products in the Australian market to focus on its RTD and spirits portfolio.
AB Abro Bryggeri is an independent brewery that has been in operation since 1856. The company exports to 28 markets globally, selling 106 million litres of drinks in 2022. Its portfolio includes Rekorderlig Orange of All Time soft drinks and Arton56 lagers.
Good Drinks Australia is also the Australian distributor of international brands belonging to Molson Coors, C&C Group’s Magners Irish Cider and San Miguel.
