Osborne, the Spain-based spirits group, has changed distributor in the UK.
The company has signed up Mangrove Global to handle its range of Carlos I brandies, Nordes Atlantic Galician gin and another brandy, Veterano Solera Reserva.
Osborne has been working in the UK for the last five years with Craftwork.
At present, the spirits are on sale through Amazon and specialist retailers including Master of Malt and Whisky Exchange.
Carlos I brandies are available at upmarket UK grocer Waitrose and Osborne has secured a test listing of Nordes at Sainsbury’s, the country’s second-largest grocer.
“This agreement is part of the company’s international development, which plans to build Osborne brands in our strategic markets,” Maarten Van Dam, the director of Osborne’s business in western Europe, said.
“The UK consumer has Spain as its favourite holiday destination. Many people will know or recognise our brands from their summer breaks, airport shops and so on.”
Van Dam told Just Drinks Mangrove and Osborne will continue to target customers across the off- and on-trades in the UK.
At present, Carlos I brandy and Nordes gin are available for £30-32 ($38.23-40.78). The specific Carlos I Imperial brandy will be set at around £50, Van Dam said, with the Veterano range at around £16-20.
“We believe the price / quality ratio is very good,” he added. “A good Spanish brandy has much more value for money and it is much smoother than a comparable Cognac, for example.”
Osborne markets its spirits in more than 70 countries. Van Dam said a “big focus” for Nordes in 2025 is the US, where Osborne launched the brand this year.
He added: “We started in 2024 with good results already but we want to take it to the next level.”
