UK-based functional energy drinks maker Tenzing has launched the “world’s strongest natural energy drink”.

The new Super Natural Energy drink will contain 200mg of “natural caffeine” sourced from green coffee and green tea. It is available in a Fiery Mango flavour in the UK on Tenzing’s website, Amazon and Holland and Barrett stores.

The RTD also contains 1000mg of cordyceps mushrooms, as well as magnesium, vitamin C and electrolytes, in order to “meet the demands of anyone in need of a powerful energy boost”, Tenzing said.

The Fiery Mango drink will contain 60mg of caffeine per 100ml, compared to Tenzing Original which has 32mg per 100ml. Meanwhile, Prime Energy contains around 42mg of caffeine per 100ml while Red Bull stands at 30mg per 100ml.

Huib van Bockel, Tenzing CEO and founder, said: “It’s an epic moment for us launching Super Natural Energy, marking our most significant innovation since the inception of Tenzing. We are taking things to the next level and continuing our disruptive spirit by creating the world’s first energy drink infused with functional fungi, showing the real power of plants.

“Super Natural Energy isn’t just about an energy boost, it’s about tapping into the advantages of Cordyceps mixed with magnesium, vitamin C, electrolytes and natural caffeine.”

Last August, Tenzing was embarking on an investment round to expand its footing in the UK and fund an advertising push. In the UK, the company’s products are listed in supermarket chains including Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s.

More recently, the founder supported Labour’s commitment to banning of the sale of caffeinated energy drinks to teenagers.

He however noted that it is “arbitrary to go after just energy drinks, when caffeine can be found in all cola’s and coffees”.

He added: “If you ban them, which I fully support, then ban them all.”
