US-based wine importer Quintessential is adding spirits to its range of products with the launch of gin brand Le Gin 13.

The gin is made by the Châteauneuf-du-Pape producer of Les Cailloux and Cuvée Centenaire, André Brunel.

Le Gin 13 will be available nationwide in the US by autumn this year.

Dennis Kreps, co-owner of Quintessential, told Just Drinks: “For the last twenty years, Quintessential has represented family-owned wineries from around the world. We’re excited to continue that core ethos with our first foray into the craft spirits world with Le Gin 13 from André Brunel, a current partner that we greatly admire.”

He added: “Le Gin 13 is an incredible terroir-driven gin that ties together a love of wine and spirits, making it an ideal first for us. It also expands our portfolio to provide a handcrafted spirit to our fine wine shops and restaurant customers and diversifies our offerings to consumers who are seeking alcoholic beverages with an authentic voice and a dynamic family story.”

Quintessential explained Le Gin 13 follows traditional gin techniques while using grapes, stems and skins.

It added that the drink is “crafted from organic grapes and featuring 13 hand-selected botanicals”.

Based in Napa, California, Quintessential is a wine and spirits importer, marketer and sales company representing family-owned businesses.

Led by Steve Sr. and Dennis Kreps, the company represents 45 wineries across 12 countries.

The business’s portfolio includes brands such as Domain Carrion France, Terrapura Chile, Bodegas Muriel Spain and Goose Ridge Washington.
