Ellers Farm Distillery is seeking to tap into consumer demand for ethical and sustainable brands with the launch of its first spirit, Dutch Barn Orchard vodka.
The brand, which launches this month across the UK off-premise channel in selected supermarkets as well as through Amazon, is made from apples and potatoes grown in the UK. With an abv of 40%, Dutch Barn Orchard has an SRP of GBP29 (US$38.17) per 70cl bottle.

Ellers Farm is currently offsetting its carbon emissions and claims to be able to reuse 97% of the water used to cool its spirit. The distiller has committed to reducing its carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and to achieve net-zero carbon by 2040.
Vodka is enjoying something of a renaissance in the UK at present, according to figures from GlobalData. Despite the pandemic, volumes remained steady in 2020, before jumping by almost 1m nine-litre cases in 2021. The ten-year compound annual growth rate of the category between 2017 and 2026 is expected to be 2.68%, with volumes forecast to top 13.5m cases in 2026.
