Diageo’s Cascade Hollow distillery in Tennessee has launched a new series of limited-edition whiskies under the Cascade Moon Whisky brand name.

The initial release, Cascade Moon Edition No 1, is an 11-year-old expression created by GM & distiller Nicole Austin and has been inspired by a gose-style beer. A second iteration is due to follow later in the Autumn.

The specific number of units was not disclosed.

The Cascade Moon name comes from Cascade Hollow’s original tagline for its Cascade Pure Whisky: ‘Mellow as moonlight.’

Austin said the idea for the range came from her time blending Diageo’s George Dickel Tennessee whiskey at Cascade Hollow in recent years. “In that process, I’ve found some incredible whiskies we’ve produced at Cascade Hollow that wouldn’t necessarily fit within the George Dickel portfolio,” Austin added. “With the release of Cascade Moon, I’m excited to have found a way to showcase these amazing whiskies.”
