Halewood Artisanal Spirits has launched the second Bourbon from its Bankhall distillery in the UK.

The company today revealed Bankhall Sweet Mash Bourbon, comprising liquid that has spent an unspecified period of time in charred American oak casks since last year. The iteration is available now from the company’s online store.

Bankhall, which debuted with Rebellion Sweet Mash earlier this year, is headed up by Widow Jane Distillery’s founder, Vince Oleson, who is “combining US and UK whiskey styles and techniques to reimagine English whiskey”, according to Halewood.

“We are building a portfolio of artisanal distilleries across the UK, with the ambition of bringing a range of different flavour profiles and styles versus other whiskies in the market,” said Halewood’s international marketing manager, Andy Wallace. “Working with Vince and the team at Bankhall has helped us to challenge the usual expectations around English whiskey and create something really new and exciting”.

As part of a move away from lower-value brands towards higher-end spirits, Halewood offloaded its Lambrini wine brand to Accolade Wines in June for an undisclosed fee.
