National Rums of Jamaica has released a 15-year-old expression from its Long Pond Distillers division that has been matured in charred American oak barrels.
Long Pond ITP-15, ITP being the abbreviation of ‘Ive Trelawny Pot’, is a single-vintage rum produced at the brand’s facility in Clark’s Town, Trelawny. The expression, launched to coincide with this year’s ‘International Rum Day’ this week, is available in markets both home and abroad, including the US and UK.

By GlobalData“Long Pond ITP-15 is not a blend of rums from any other distillery,” said NRJ’s CEO, Martha Miller. “With the authenticity, reputation and heritage of Long Pond, this expression will continue to highlight the versatility of Jamaican rums and further solidify the iconic status of the rums from Long Pond.”
As well as its namesake brand, Long Pond Distillers also produces rum for “other premium brands worldwide”.
Previously state-controlled, NRJ is today co-owned by the Jamaican Government, Demerara Distillers and West Indies Rum Distillers, which each own a third.
Earlier this year, Martha Miller assumed the CEO position at NRJ following the retirement of Neil Glasgow.
