According to the company, the boxed wines last up to four weeks once opened and have been designed to target US consumers hosting or participating in communal games nights.

“We have crafted delicious, premium wines housed in one-of-a-kind, creative packaging,” said the company’s chief marketing officer, Christine Moll. “The three-litre box category is gaining momentum as new consumers continue to discover the convenience and value of this format, so we wanted to offer them an engaging brand that they can have fun with.”

In January, O’Neill purchased California-based Rabble Wines for an undisclosed fee, in an effort to expand its offering for younger legal-age wine drinkers in the US.
