Remy Cointreau’s Islay Scotch whisky distiller, Bruichladdich, has released the final bottling from its Octomore 12s line of single malts.

Octomore Ten Aged Years comprises whisky that spent five years resting in first-fill ex-American oak casks before maturing for a further five years in barriques that formerly held Ribera Del Duero wine. The expression is available exclusively from the company’s website and distillery shop and is limited to 3,500 bottles.

The expression joins three other iterations in the Octomore 12s series, revealed in October – editions 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3 – retailing at US$169, $189 and $236, respectively.

Late last year, Remy launched Bruichladdich The Biodynamic Project single malt – a single malt the brand owner claims was the first to be produced using biodynamic methods.
